STABLE AND DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED GOVERNMENT

Seychelles is currently an Independent Republic within the British Commonwealth. During the last elections held in 2004, the ruling party was re-elected with Mr. James Alix Michel as President (former Vice President) who replaced Mr. France Albert Rene who was President of the Republic of Seychelles for the last 27 years.

MODERN AIRPORT
The Seychelles International Airport situated at Pointee Larue, combined with its 2,987 meters runway, provides modern and efficient passenger and cargo facilities which make it one of the Indian Ocean's finest. In addition to Air Seychelles (the dominating national flag carrier), the airport is also served by Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa (Condor), Aeroflot, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Kenya Airways and InterAir.
From Seychelles airport there are regular scheduled flights to London, Manchester, Paris, Frankfurt, Zurich, Rome, Madrid, Dubai, Bombay, Nairobi, Singapore, Johannesburg and Moscow.

DEEPEST SEA PORT OF THE REGION
The port of Victoria, Mahe Quay (370 meters long) is the deepest and most inexpensive in the region. Offering modern cargo equipment, 6600 square meters of covering storage space, equipped with four mobile cranes of up to 41 tons capacity and able to accommodate up to six ocean going ships at any one time, Seychelles has the potential to become an important freight hub.

CYCLONE FREE ZONE
Seychelles is geographically and climatically very stable, lying outside the cyclone belt.
