Visa and Residence Permits
Documents that are required for entry into the country are:
-A valid passport
-A return ticket
-Proof of accommodation
-Satisfactory funds for the duration of stay.
The presentation of the above documents will grant you a visitor's visa that is provided on arrival to the Seychelles by the airport's Immigration Department. The visitor's visa is valid for a period of one month that can be extended to 3 months without any extra charge and for a further three 3-month periods for an amount of 200Sr (approx. €30).
Worker's Permit
-The Worker's Permit allows the holder of this permit to work for a profit
in the Seychelles either as an employee or as a businessman.
-Forms for a worker's permit must be lodged at least 10 weeks prior to
beginning work and entry is forbidden into the Seychelles for work if this
permit has not been issued.
-The application must be completed by the same person in the case that
it is a businessman or by the future employer in the case that it is an
employee.
-There is a fee of 600Sr for the processing of the application.
-The cost of the duration of the permit is 1,500Sr per month.
As for the procedure to obtain the workers permit, the following factors
are taken into account:
1)Personality, reputation and the health of the applicant and a member
of the family surrounding to verify for the permit;
2)The professional or technical expertise of the applicant;
3)The availability of persons who are already employed in this sector within
the Seychelles;
4)The protection of local interests;
5)The financial or social benefits that will possibly be provided as an
employee or the increase that will follow with his/her presence.
Residence
Permit
1) The Residence Permit is issued for someone who:
a) Is not a prohibited immigrant
b) Has a family and house in the Seychelles
c) Has offered or will offer in the future towards the economic, social
or political life of the Seychelles.
2) The Residence Permit holder:
a) Must reside in the Seychelles for at least 5 days for every 12 months
that the permit is in force
b) If the holder of the permit resides in the Seychelles for more than
one month a year, the opening of a bank account with a Seychelles Bank
or the filing of a bank guarantee with the General Supervisor of Immigration
for at least Sr20,000 is required. Furthermore, it is requested that
a Power of Attorney is provided to the General Supervisor of Immigration
so that the required funds can be withdrawn to cover whatever expenses
may be occurred for the handling and maintaining either by the holder
of
the permit or by other dependent members of the holder during the duration
of residence or during the duration of the departure from the country.
c) If the holder of the permit resides in the Seychelles for more than
one month (each year) it is required that 14 days after the pre - arranged
date of issuance of the permit, the holder files with the General Supervisor
of Immigration the bank account with a Bank of Seychelles showing the
funds available for personal use which should be at least Sr100,000.
d) Paragraphs (b) and (c) are not valid if upon the decision of the General
Supervisor of Immigration the holder of the permit has sufficient investments
in the Seychelles which cover the amounts that are mentioned in Paragraph
(c) and (d) depending on each case. 3. During the duration that the residents
permit is in force, the holder should examine the possibilities available
in order to offer to the economic, social and political life of the Seychelles.
4. The holder of the permit is not entitled to free hospital or medical
cover in the Seychelles or any other social benefits as per the law governing
the Social Benefits Act 1987.
5. The holder of the residence permit is not permitted to work for a
profit in the Seychelles.
6. The residence permit ceases to be in force when the holder:-
a) Comes into conflict with the regulations of the permit;
b) Has been found guilty for breach of the law concerning Immigrations;
or
c) Has been deported from the Seychelles.
7. The relatives or the dependant members of the holder of the permit
can be included.
8. For the processing of the application the amount of €115 is requested.
9. The cost for the issuance of the residence permit is Sr50,000 for
the main holder and Sr25,000 for the spouse if the applications are made
together.
10. The cost to include the other dependant members in the residence
permit is Sr1,000. The permit expenses are to be paid in foreign currency.
Residence Permit for dependant members
The specific permit is issued to the spouse or the children of a Seychelles
citizen who is not:
a)Prohibited immigrant
b)Holder of a residence or workers permit.
-The application is submitted by the spouse who is already a Seychelles
citizen, or in the case of the children by one of the parents that is already
a citizen of the Seychelles. The cost for the issuance of this permit is
Sr100.
-The specific permit does not permit the holder to work. In the case that
this is desired, a worker's permit is required.
The residence permit of a dependant member ceases to be in force when the
holder:-
a) Does not enter the Seychelles for a period of 12 months from the date
of issue or is absent from the Seychelles for 1 year.
b) Comes into conflict with the rules of the permit, has been found guilty
for breach of the law concerning Immigration or has been deported from
the Seychelles.
Students Permit
A student's permit is issued to anyone who wishes to study in the Seychelles
and who can prove that:
- They will register as a student at a specific educational institution
and have substantial funds to cover the expenses that will occur during
their period in the Seychelles
- The cost of the process of the application is 500Sr and is paid upon
the submission of the application
- The cost for the issuance of the permit is 1,000Sr and is valid for the
duration of the academic studies.
- The student's permit does not allow the holder to work in the Seychelles.

The application documents for the various permits are available from the
Immigration Office, Independence House, P.O.Box 430, Victoria, Mahé,
Seychelles and by the Consulate of the Republic of Seychelles in Greece.
